Watercolours
This gallery contains of 65 paintings. Most of these paintings were done during a
Year of Painting (YOP), project. The YOP guidelines were, one painting per week for an entire year. This was a challenge taken seriously,. to force the artist to remain commited and focused, but the main priority was to learning as many new techniques and styles as possible in that year.

A tough challenge for many weeks of the year, as time was available for painting some weeks, however many weeks through that year often meant a painting had to be done in only an hour or so,. sometimes less. They are there for your viewing pleasure, the good, the bad, and the ugly,. raucous laughter is encouraged :] .

You will clearly see the rushed paintings (read thrown together),. some done while on a December vacation and the challenge those weeks was just to get anything finished and posted on time.

Some paintings, the Himalayans and Tired Mother in particular were compositions requested and sketched up by two of our children. Himilayans was our 12yr old daughter's request and Tired Mother was based on a sketch that our 10yr old son dreamed up for his painting.

You might notice also, two very weird 'deep' paintings 'Unbridled' & 'What?!' on page two in this gallery. These paintings depict emotional struggles that surfaced during the project. These paintings were done using pure raw emotion as the reference material. These painting came completely from within. The artist was angry, upset, sometimes crying, lacking confidence in artistic ability and direction. Look at these two paintings closely, what do they mean?,.can you see the frustration, anger, turmoil and sadness in them? There is so much symbolism in these,.. and everything means something powerful to the artist, can you figure any of it out?. Can you tell which character represents the artist in What?! That's not too hard to guess,.. but what is going on in this piece?

Drawings
This gallery contains only of 6 drawings. Using Prismacolour and graphite pencils. The Foal was done using an interesting technique called 'Circulism', where the entire piece was created drawing only circles, a painting request from our youngest child. Sensul fruit, a first attempt at drawing with new Prismacolor pencils, resulting in a wax bloom, but effective nonetheless. The painting is waxy to touch, but then so was the fruit :) . Realistic apples contrasting against a not so realistic watercolour background and a couple of incomplete pieces. The Cockatoo will remain unfinished, however the Zebra, drawn from photograph taken while in Africa, will someday be finished.

Flowers
This gallery contains 96 glorious photos of nature at it's best. As an artist, it's near impossible to walk past a gorgeous flower or a bug as it seems, and not capture it's beauty forever in a photo. You just never know when the mood might strike to paint it.

With a camera always on hand, many of these photos are taken for the purpose of being used as reference material for painting and drawing. Mostly tulips in this gallery, though if you look hard, you might find some bloomin' gnomes and a pelican or two. Most of these photos were taken at the 2005 Floriade in Canberra, Australia.

It would be a crime not to allow visitors to wander through these photo galleries for some visual pleasure.

UpClose & Personal
This gallery contains 50 wonderful close ups and macro shots of flowers, spiders, bees and other bugs. Who says spiders are ugly? Closeups of tulips, mostly taken at the 2005 Floriade, however,. many of these pictures were also taken right here in our garden,. the bugs particularly,. we have plenty of bugs.

More coming.....we have some great frog shots to show you,..see the little guy left,.. that's 'Lucky' as in lucky-to-be-alive, after travelling under the bonet of our car for several hundred kilometres and
he didn't 'croak it'. He has lived with us now for more than two years. How lucky is that? :].

Sold Jewelry
Much of the work shown in this gallery was done several years ago now, though we have retained the images in the gallery as they may be useful and inspire or help beginner jewelry makers create ideas from. This gallery contains 80 photos so far and we hope to add more as pieces are made.

YOJ
The Year of Jewerly started because of an idea Remy brought to a jewelry forum, based in the Year of Painting that she took part in over at WetCanvas many years ago. The like the Year of Painting,... the Year of Jewelry, is a year long creative challenge done along with other artists. The Year of Jewelry challenge was to make, photograph and post one piece of jewelry per week for a whole year. Sounds easy yes?....it was not. You may see reference occasionally to FSOJ (Four Seasons of Jewelry) which was a temporary name change for the same event.
